When Brand Shepherd was founded in 2006, we had this line on our website: “We bring practical humility to our work. We listen, think, create, and serve.” This process is how we guide our clients.
Rather than start by telling you how great we are, what we’ve done, etc., we always start a new relationship by listening. Until we know your aspirations, challenges and growth plans, we have nothing to work with.
Digesting what we have heard, we set about thinking through how to craft your brand’s narrative, your branding strategy, your challenges, and goals. We put in a lot of thought before we create anything, and the result is growth for your brand.
Walter Gropius, one of the founders of the German Bauhaus school of design, once said, “Art is self-expression; Design is problem-solving.” We solve problems with informed, thoughtfully designed work.
Let’s be clear: at the end of the day, our clients’ brands do not belong to Brand Shepherd. When our work is finished for a particular project, season, or met objective, we must hand over what we created. You need to believe in it; you will use it to sell—not us. We check our egos at the door, knowing that to do our best work, we must have a mind for service.
