Our process for creating brand identities (aka, “the logo”) is drenched in a thorough process. All of the identities in our portfolio followed our process, and achieved the results our client was after. That’s the thing about “good design” – it doesn’t exist. “Good” is determined by what works the brand, for the business. Over the last two years Brand Shepherd has been actively involved in the shift of brands and businesses migrating to websites that utilize Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress, Magento, Drupal, etc. Our portfolio contains a variety of websites, many of which are built on WordPress and Magento so that once Brand Shepherd’s work is complete the content of the site is totally editable by the brand manager and/or business owner. Whether it’s a simple informational website, or an e-commerce website with several degrees of complexity, Brand Shepherd’s portfolio showcases our experience in creating successful web tools for our clients.
Let’s say this upfront: Not all of our consumer packaging portfolio is for public consumption. We have a private portfolio of our work in addition to what you’ll see here. What we showcase in this portfolio gets to the point: We have a lot of experience designing consumer packaging. Process is everything in consumer packaging design. A success story blends the value proposition with beautiful, on-target creative, and gives the consumer a visual hierarchy of information to make the product stand out. When designing for retail, process is especially important because we have considerations for the corporate buyer(s) to lend their input on what will sell and what won’t. Once the product has its amazing, on-target, on-brand packaging design it will need to be photographed for marketing. We do this in-house, and have a packaging photography portfolio for you to look through. We try to be a single source partner when it comes to consumer packaged goods (CPG), as we design, photograph, and then design the marketing pieces that get the word out about your new products.
The rumors of Print’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Or something like that. Let’s say it all together: Print is not dead. Actually, print is making something of a resurgence. We’re starting to see more and more links between content delivery on the web and in print. The two are not mutually exclusive entities, and our portfolio is a great case study of brands that happen to agree. What’s more, as we see the emergence of the QR code in print, we’re expecting to see an uptick in print design.
Sometimes there is simply no better way to get your message out than good ‘ol advertising. Print (magazine, newspaper, trade paper, etc.), web, mobile, outdoor – we cut our design teeth in advertising, and don’t mind showing some of the work to prove it.
Wrap Up
We find that these services fit our clients’ needs really well. Every business we work with has myriad branding needs, rather than just one niche. So we typically work in a combination of project types: A business might need a new logo that needs to in turn be used on their new web site that we’re also working on. In other cases we’re working on an established brand to refresh or evolve it, and apply the updated look to packaging, print, and advertising.
